01 / The Beginning
Kandaer Waan on every corner. Warm. Familiar. Ancient. A part of Kashmir's everyday life.
But there was another possibility waiting to be explored flavours from beyond the valley, brought together under one roof.
02 / 2021
It started with a different kind of dream.
In 2021, Mudasir Naqshbandi looked at Baramulla and saw something missing. Not another bakery. Something different.
French baking. Turkish flavours. Continental, Arabian and Iranian influences. A café and bakery brought together on the Srinagar–Baramulla highway.
03 / The Idea
Red velvet beside Bakirkhani. Pistachio cheesecake beside chai. Éclairs, pastries, coffee and plates made for sharing.
The menu became a meeting point between cultures introducing North Kashmir to flavours it had never needed to travel for.
04 / The People
The real story began with people.
A growing team. New skills. New opportunities. Women finding work. Young people building careers without having to leave home.
Bake My Cake became more than a place to eat. It became a place to grow.
05 / Beyond Baramulla
Word travelled. The menu grew to more than 300 creations. The first home in Baramulla became the beginning of something larger.
Then came Sopore another home for the same idea, the same hospitality and the same belief in what North Kashmir could create.
06 / The Bigger Picture
From job seeker to job creator.
In 2025, the story travelled from Baramulla to Delhi, where Mudasir Naqashbandi shared the journey of building a business and creating employment from his hometown.
The numbers matter. But the people behind them matter more. Every job represents a family, a future and another reason for talent to stay and build here.
Today
What began in Baramulla continues through Baramulla and Sopore bringing together food, people, cultures and possibilities.
